Taiwan Manufacturing & Our Commitments
A working sequence for requirements, samples, manufacturing records and shipment.
What Needs to Travel With the Part?
A usable component arrives with the right revision, material/treatment condition, acceptance evidence and identification. Manufacturing coordination connects those requirements from inquiry through shipment; it is more than requesting a price from a factory.
ElixirFab works through long-term Asian partner factories as the technical and delivery coordination window. This article describes a proposed project workflow, not a completed delivery case or a universal commercial commitment.
Gate 1: A Shared Requirement and Supply Scope
Control the part definition, quantity, material, finish and critical characteristics. Identify the proposed manufacturing and inspection partners and resolve drawing questions before ordering. If a partner suggests a material or geometry change, return it for buyer approval.
The quotation should identify contracting and invoicing parties, included operations, tooling/setup costs, sample approval, inspection records and delivery conditions. Separate manufacturing from design validation, integration or regulatory qualification. A factory's machine list or material selection does not by itself establish every requested qualification.
For confidential files, agree NDA terms and permitted onward sharing with partners before exchanging them. Do not send sensitive drawings merely to obtain a preliminary fit discussion.
Gate 2: Sample Approval and Production Release
Define which parts and reports form the sample submission, who reviews them and what releases production. Record the drawing revision, inspection/treatment state, results, deviations and unresolved questions. Appearance approval alone is not full dimensional approval.
Agree the plan for changes while material, tooling or work in progress exists. A revision may affect cost, stock, treatment, inspection and timing. Approval must precede changed work; attaching a new drawing to an email is not enough to prove the factory has adopted it.
Gate 3: Production Evidence and Shipment Readiness
Coordinate the agreed first-piece, in-process and outgoing checks through the assigned partners. Connect reports and material/treatment records to the actual lot. Do not substitute CAD/CAM simulation, nominal machine settings or a generic certificate for the required part evidence.
Before shipment, check part/revision identification, quantities, open deviations, packaging and the document set. Define protection for finished surfaces, corrosion precautions and any cleaning/residue restrictions. Confirm destination and transport/import responsibilities in the project's agreed terms; legal and customs requirements depend on the actual shipment and are not determined by this guide.
Gate 4: Receipt, Issues and Repeat Orders
Agree how the buyer reports a receipt or acceptance issue and which information identifies the affected lot. Preserve photos, relevant measured results and records needed to investigate. Resolve containment, disposition and corrective action against the agreed requirements; warranty and remedies follow the actual quotation or contract.
For repeat orders, carry forward the approved revision, material condition, route, reports and any accepted changes. Verify that an old quotation remains applicable rather than assuming price, capacity and timing are unchanged.
A Useful Handover Record
Keep a project reference, controlled drawing/revision, approved changes, partner responsibilities, sample release, lot-linked inspection/material/treatment records, packing identification and shipment details. The exact record set is agreed at quotation, not promised automatically for every order.
